Trust you’ll take the right to leave me, Waiting under dark clouds for the rain. Praying lightning strikes a change. As history gets lost, And as I took that final breath I felt alive. Meeting God to stand in line, all alone.
“Don’t be sad, I know you well. It’s just the way it has to be.
I could never stay the same.
It’s always high, always low, and almost never in between.
There is no one left to blame.
I can’t stay, I have to change.”—Shine, The Used. (via im-jaded-now)
“It’s been said that there is one word that will free us from the weight and pain of life. And, that word is love, and I believe that. It doesn’t mean that it hasn’t been hard or that it won’t be. It just means that I found a stillness and bravery in myself with you. You make me brave and I will love you until the end of time. This I vow today.”—Haley James Scott (One Tree Hill)
“If you’re young and you’re watching this, you guys know what you’re up against. Especially if you’re a girl. It’s sex, right? And even fifty years from now, I’m guessing it’s still a really big deal. It’s awkward and threatening. And thrilling. But, in a way, it’s like sex is the easy part. Giving your heart to somebody, that’s the scary part.”—Peyton Sawyer (One Tree Hill)
Today is the 10th anniversary of the release of Tell All Your Friends so I thought it seemed appropriate to post some nostalgia for ya’ll. This is a sincere favourite of mine. Always the perfect song for any break up. Those lyrics are some of my favs-“the truth is you could slit my throat and with my one last gasping breath I’d apologize for bleeding on your shirt” or “maybe I should hate you for this…” I can’t believe it’s already been 10 years but now I know this will forever be a classic.
Peyton Sawyer will become Peyton Scott. Lucas wrote this in the 8th grade. I remember him talking about her constantly and not just in the 8th grade, but in the 9th grade, the 10th grade, and the 11th grade. And then finally, Lucas gathered up his courage and talked to Peyton for the first time, right here at this lake, and she was a bitch.
He said “Haley I talked to her!” And when I asked him if the fantasy was finally over, if he could finally admit the Peyton Sawyer was indeed human after all, he said, “No. Peyton Sawyer is not human. She’s an angel. And she’s my angel.”
Peyton Sawyer will become Peyton Scott. That was the dream, and here we are, 10 years later. We all get to witness a dream come true.
